I manage, design, and teach the "Rock School" program at Naperville Music. It's an all-ages, get-your-band-off-the-ground course.

I have been playing guitar for 21 years, and teaching for 11 years. I teach in Chicago (near Western & Division), and in Naperville.

I teach electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass, ukulele, and piano, as well as music theory, business, & technology.

Here's a bit more detail;
I teach a wide variety of styles and techniques. My focus is on rock, metal, pop and folk; I teach beginner country, jazz, and classical as well. I also teach music theory, writing, basic voice, ear training, sight reading, instrument maintenance/repair/modification, and music technology (recording, live sound, synthesis, analog and digital signal processing, distortion, etc.).
I've studied music with Dave Uhrich, Adam St. James, Mike Aquino, Ken Paoli, James Phelps, and Peter Middleton.
My students range in age from 7 to 75, with skill levels and musical tastes all across the board. As a teacher, I am very goal oriented and flexible -- if you have specific goals in mind, let me know. Wherever you want to go, I'll help get you there, and if I can't, I know someone who can.
I've gigged at a wide variety of venues, including The Metro, Lincoln Hall, and Wicker Park's Green Fest.

My video lessons are here, if you'd like to go through 'em separately, or you can watch them all in the youtube playlist above.

My private lesson policies are all posted publicly here. Please email me for details and availability:
If you'd like to contact me, you'll have to type my email address manually; I do this to cut down on spam.

Thanks for reading.
